Payroll Manager – Part Time (9 Month Fixed Term Contract)

We are looking for a Payroll Manager to join the People team to process UK payrolls on a monthly basis and ensure all team members are paid correctly and on time each month. The position is 22.5 hours per week and there is flexibility in how the working hours are structured.

You will manage the company payroll for our UK team ensuring all team members are paid correctly and on time each month. Your main responsibilities will include ensuring all data and accurate payroll information is collated on time, update with any changes, ensure all team members are correctly auto-enrolled onto the company pension scheme and ensure monthly reports are produced on time for the finance team. You will also be responsibility for ensuring all benefits information is correct.

You must be able to work alone but also closely in a team and have outstanding internal service and communication skills. We are looking for a motivated individual who uses their initiative and has excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the People team to ensure accurate information for all employees is received, updated and entered in Dayforce on time each month for UK payrolls
  • Work with the People team to ensure all benefits information is correct and run through payroll accurately
  • Work with HR Business Partner to ensure all commission payments are processed on time for payment each month / quarter
  • Fully manage the payroll process from start to end and ensure Dayforce accurately reflects any payroll updates for employees including new starters, leavers, salary amendments
  • Manage the internal payroll processes related to Dayforce
  • Update Dayforce with maternity and paternity pay, sick pay and any other variable pay elements
  • Proactively communicate with all team members regarding to their pay as and when required and answer any payroll-related queries
  • Ensure payslips for UK team members are correct each month
  • Manage and issue all year-end submissions including P60’s and P11d’s and issuing P45’s and any other employee payroll-related paperwork on time
  • Work with the Finance team to ensure all benefits and pension payments reconcile at the end of each month
  • Work closely with our pension provider to oversee and manage all pension auto-enrolment schemes and ensure eligibility
  • Ensure the payroll and Finance team work seamlessly and all relevant information is communicated to Finance
  • Be fully conversant in Dayforce and act as a subject matter expert
  • Process Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme wage reclaims as required
  • Complete any compliance-related submissions, such as the gender pay gap report
  • Continually improve the payroll function, systems and streamline processes within the company
  • Complete payroll reports for Chief People Officer and Finance team when necessary
  • Conduct regular audits on payroll / HR data and ensure all information is correct
  • Remain up to date regarding payroll employment law and ensure company compliance
  • Ensure complete confidentiality and discretion with all aspects of payroll
  • Assist with the development and project of new potential overseas payrolls and working with third parties
  • Ensure that payroll across the company is completed within company policies and guidelines each month
  • Address and resolve tax-related questions as necessary

Duties

The duties that derive from these responsibilities include but are not exclusive to:

  • Keep all payroll data, salary information and employee data updated and accurate at all times
  • Rectify any payroll errors asap and communicate to team members
  • Ensure all eligible employees are enrolled onto the company pension schemes
  • Complete authorisation paperwork for any payroll amends either via forms or Dayforce
  • Review payroll with HR Business Partner and Chief People Officer to ensure all payroll information is correct and authorised before being processed in Dayforce
  • Communicate monthly payroll deadlines to receive information and ensuring that all payroll deadlines are met within the month
  • Assist the Finance team on any payroll related queries or projects
  • Log onto the BACS services website and download any payment reports and rectify as and when needed
  • Complete RTI submissions each month
  • Liaise with HMRC as required
  • Assist People team with annual salary increase letters as and when needed
  • Communicate with employees regarding auto-enrolment and company pension queries and any other benefits as and when needed
  • Remain discreet and maintain confidentiality of information at all times
  • Such other duties as management may reasonably require from time to time
