Latin America Team – Destination Manager

From intrepid adventures in the Amazon, journeys of discovery through Patagonia or a gastronomic trip through Argentina, you will be helping the travel consultants tailor make the best holiday, honeymoon or once in a lifetime adventure for Scott Dunn guests. As a Destination Manager you must be passionate about travel and have first-hand knowledge of the destination to help curate the perfect holiday.

 

(9 Month Maternity Cover) Part Time 22.5 hours per week

 

Role Purpose

To support the Head of Product in delivering the overall product strategy through the maintenance and updating of all product content within a specialist region, identifying product and process opportunities and driving commercial and innovative wins. The aim of this autonomous role is to ensure that the product team can provide up-to-date, relevant and accurate product information to the business to maximise sales and revenue opportunities, as well as the overall guest experience.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ownership and destination specialism of certain geographical regions
  • Input into product strategy, driving projects and product overhauls to deadlines
  • Commercial negotiations, contracting and supplier tenders
  • Planning fam trips and ensuring that each trip delivers maximum benefit to the business
  • Effective communication between international offices, with sales teams and the wider business
  • Managing relationships, leading key supplier meetings and representing LTG at tradeshows
  • Proactively identify sales team training requirements, building a bank of tools and resources
  • Work with the Marketing team to drive new campaign ideas and website development
  • Maintaining accuracy and relevance of content within the product database
  • Creatively writing new and existing product copy and uploading special offers

Duties

The duties that derive from these responsibilities include but are not exclusive to:

  • Assist the Head of Product with strategic and commercial projects
  • Undertake commercial analysis at destination and property level
  • Analysing rates and signing and loading contractual agreements, reporting on any changes to contracts
  • Ensure all tactical and yearly contracted offers are negotiated and communicated to sales teams
  • Problem solving and proactive suggestions to make improvements to existing systems / processes.
  • Seeking creative solutions and exploring new and innovative ways of offering holidays
  • Identify training needs, train and support new and existing members of the Product and Sales team
  • Managing pre and post fam work of Travel Consultants and planning fam trip itineraries to budget
  • Lead supplier meetings and independently attend events and tradeshows as required
  • Ownership of projects in line with product strategy and conducting destination overhauls
  • Identify, research and lead on new product development areas, conduct competitor analysis
  • Monitoring market trends and spotting business opportunities
  • Driving company-wide projects to improve functionality of systems and processes
  • Ensure that product content is correctly loaded, up to date and well-organised
  • Identify any gaps or weaknesses in product portfolio, write and proof-read existing / new copy
  • Adding accommodation, experiences and transfers to database on an ad-hoc basis to support sales team
  • Perform regular content maintenance checks on database / website and rectify any inaccuracies
  • Research and load generic product data, including geographic and seasonal descriptions
  • Copywriting and driving ideas for content, on and offline
