Logistics Manager

Resort: Val d'Isère (France)

This is a fantastic job opportunity to work as a Logistics Manager in a leading ski resort, based within our luxury winter operation. This position demands a great deal of flexibility and interaction with both guests and colleagues. It is a greatly varied and physical position which will call for a high level of practical ability as well as responsibility and awareness. The smooth running of the resort for the winter depends to a huge extent the role of the Logistics Manager, and incorporates the responsibility of managing the driver team, the driver service, stock deliveries and control. Our driver teams need to be self-motivated, resourceful, proactive, communicative and happy to jump in and help with any situation -they will be the best presented and recognised teams in resort therefore it is imperative that we maintain our excellent reputation and impeccable standards.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure that all our guests benefit from the highest level of Scott Dunn service
  • Deliver a daily driver & transfer service that is efficient, smooth and professional
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment are managed and looked after with the utmost care including the repair of vehicles
  • Day to day management of stock control in resort, to ensure that all chalets are catered for and that any financial risk is minimised by having effective controls in place
  • Effective rota scheduling to ensure all areas are covered
  • Carry out the safe transfer of guests to and from airports/train stations at any time
  • Daily maintenance and upkeep of Scott Dunn vehicles including all legal requirements
  • Snow and ice clearing where required
  • Responsibility for the cleaning and standards of the vehicles in resort – we pride ourselves on having the shiniest, most impressive vehicles in each resort

  • A strong eye for detail (stock control, vehicle standards, guest service standards)

  • Excellent time keeping and reliability
  • Good practical and mechanical vehicle knowledge and experience
  • Impeccable personal presentation and grooming

Essential requirements

  • Full clean UK/EU driving licence
  • Management experience of leading teams in a logistical/transport, overseas or hospitality setting
  • Available for the whole season – November until the end of April
  • UK/EU passport

Desirable attributes

  • Previous overseas, off road or snow/ice driving experience
  • Trade experience/background – plumbing, carpentry, electrical, building, planning, engineering
  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience
  • Work experience in functions, guest facing roles, previous ski seasons and luxury travel companies
  • Second language (French or German)
